Adopting or Reserving a Kitten or Cat
- Kittens remain available until a deposit is received. Kitten will be held as reserved for 48 hours pending receipt of deposit.
- No deposit will be accepted until a Questionnaire is filled out and sent to me.
- The deposit goes towards the final purchase price, remainder of which is due upon pick up of the kitten. We do not accept checks for the final payment unless pre-paid (2 weeks prior to picking up your kitten) and cleared. Other forms of payment -- cash, credit/debit cards, PayPal -- are acceptable.
- Deposits are NOT REFUNDABLE. Please be sure this is the kitten you want before putting down a deposit.
We screen for people who will value the kitten as a cherished family member, and who are financially able to care for it for the rest of its life. We continue to stay informed in the latest feline care, and we make sure that all our kitties are well trained, healthy and socialized before they leave our care. All our kittens come with a vet health certificate and health guarantee.
Pet insurance for the first 60 days is a free trial with CFA's health insurance.
(See this website for more information about insurance: http://www.cfapetinsurance.com ).
If not already altered, it is also the owner's responsibility to spay or neuter at the appropriate time, if purchased as a pet.
Exotic: You may or may not have heard the following terms: Exotic Short Hair (ESH) or Exotic Long Hair (ELH). Sometimes they refer to them as Exotic Persian or sometimes they just call them Persians. Exotics were created as the result of a mixture of Persian to a short haired breed. Exotics and Persians are different distinct breeds. CFA does not recognize Exotic Persian. If one parent is Exotic, then the cat you are buying is Exotic and not Persian, regardless of its hair length. They will also carry an 8xxx registration number.
CPC: CPC means Color Point Carrier. If a Persian carries the Color Point gene, unless it is a Himilayan, there is no visual difference. So unless you plan to breed, this probably won't matter to you. A CPC will carry a 3xxx registration number. Carissa of Cacao Cattery has written a very in-depth article if you would like more of an explanation. http://www.cacaocattery.com/cpc.html
